CHICAGO – The University of St. Francis baseball team has been picked as the favorites to win the 2001 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships according to the 2020-21 CCAC Baseball Coaches Preseason Poll, which was released this Friday (Nov. 6) morning by the conference.
The Saints, who are under the direction of 10th-year head coach Brian Michalak, claimed the top placing among the 11-member conference teams. Trinity Christian, Saint Xavier, Indiana South Bend, and St. Ambrose rounded out the top five placings in order.
The league baseball poll was conducted by the CCAC coaches.
The 2021 baseball season is scheduled to get underway on St. Patrick’s Day, which is March 17.
USF compiled a 5-15 overall record, which included a 3-0 CCAC mark, in the shortened 2020 season due to the COVID pandemic.
