DAVENPORT – On Tuesday, the Trojans traveled to Iowa for their latest conference matchup against the Fighting Bees of St. Ambrose. Trinity came out with their second highest scoring game of the season, defeating St. Ambrose, 97-83.
The Trojans opened scoring with a 3-pointer from Brandon McQueen, his first points of what would be his third-highest scoring game of the season. Throughout the early minutes of the first half, the Bees and Trojans battled for the lead with multiple lead changes. With eight minutes left, the Trojans took control and never looked back after a 13-0 run.
Starting the second half with an eight point lead, the Trojans continued their offensive push shooting over 73% against the Bees. McQueen led the Trojans in scoring throughout the second half with another 19 points and Jack Kahoun added 14 of his own, earning a new season-high total of 26 points per game.
With yesterday’s victory over the Bees, Trinity earns their second highest scoring game of the season, as well as second highest field goal percentage. The Trojans are currently ranked 6th in the nation for total points scored (1,303) and 10th for 3PT made, averaging 10.3 per game.
The Trojans (7-8) travel to Oakland City, Ind. next week to participate in the Oakland City Classic against host Oakland City and Brescia University (Kent.).
