Trinity Christian finishes 7th at NCCAA; Busker claims 100m, 200m titles

GREENVILLE, Ill. – The final day of competition at the NCCAA Outdoor National Championships proved to be a big one for the Trinity Christian College track and field teams. The Trolls came away with two national championship performances – Alyssa Busker in the 100m and the 200m, as well as two more All American performances from Ryan Mathes and Caleb DeWeerd.  Both teams would finish seventh overall in the 20 team field. Busker was also named the Track Athlete of the Meet for her performance.

  • 100m Dash – Elijah Butler, 5th place (11.20)
  • 800m – Chloe Kikstra, 15th place (2:32.44)
  • 800m – Caleb DeWeerd, 3rd place (1:55.84)
  • 400m – Lexi Van Ryn, 5th place (1:11.26)
  • 200m Dash – Alyssa Busker, 1st place (24.20)
  • 5000m – Valerie Wellman, 9th place (20:40.45)
  • Shot Put – Lily Alsum, 9th place (11.76m)
  • Hammer – Ross Barz, 10th place (41.12m)

Alyssa Busker and Maddy Clausen will head south to the NAIA Outdoor National Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The event will run from May 26-28 at the Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium.
