GARY, Ind. – After playing their first home contest, the Trinity women’s basketball team was back on the road as they took on the Indiana Northwest Red Hawks.
At the start of the game, the Red Hawks grabbed a one-point lead and didn’t let go throughout the second quarter. It wasn’t until the third quarter that the Trolls took control of the game. Trinity scored 29 points compared to Indiana Northwest’s 12, which helped put them in a comfortable lead heading into the final quarter of competition. From there, the Trolls continued to out-score the Red Hawks, resulting in an 86-65 victory for Trinity.
Leading the Trolls was senior Jasmine Elliott, who finished the night with 24 points after shooting 50 percent from the field. Senior Gabby Kreykes contributed 18 points while senior Abby Coates added another 11. Coates also led the team in rebounds with 12 to record her first double-double of the season. She also topped the team for assists with four and blocks with two. Senior Jasmine Glover registered a team-high four steals to assist with the team’s victory.
This win gives the Trolls a 2-1 record on the season. They look to play their next game of the season at Holy Cross College on Dec. 12. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET.
