BOURBONNAIS – After a second-straight Victory Bowl win in 2019, head coach Eric Hehman and the Olivet Nazarene University football team announced its 2020 schedule on Tuesday.
“We are excited to get the season schedule finalized,” Hehman said. “We lost a few home games based on the NAIA’s decision to shorten the season.”
The Tiger football team starts its season with consecutive road contests. The Tigers travel up to Michigan to play Concordia (Mich.) on September 12 and Lawrence Tech on September 19. After a bye week, ONU opens its home portion of the schedule welcoming Missouri Baptist University to Ward Field on October 3.
After a quick trip to Saint Ambrose on October 10, University of St. Francis (Ill.) comes to Ward Field on October 17. On October 24, the Tigers travel to play one of the newest members of the Mid-States Football Conference (MSFA), Roosevelt University. The Tigers will be then home for the next two games starting on October 31 to play Madonna University and on November 7 against Saint Xavier for Homecoming. The Tigers will finish their season on the road, on November 14, at Trinity International.
ONU hosts only four home games with five being on the road.
“Our guys are road warriors and look forward to the task,” Hehman said.
