NEW ORLEANS – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) announced their academic awards for the 2020 season on Thursday. The USTFCCCA honored individuals and programs as All-Academic with both Lewis track and field teams earning the honor as well as eight student-athletes.
In Division II, teams cumulative GPA must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. In order for individuals to earn All-Academic standing, they must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale, have completed 24 credit hours and must have achieved an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark either as an individual or as part of a relay team.
The men’s team had a team GPA of 3.13 while the women’s team achieved a 3.36. The women’s team had saw six individuals named All-Academic while the men’s team had two individuals earn the honor.
In total, there were 114 men’s programs and 149 women’s programs who earned All-Academic Team Awards and 208 men from 73 institutions and 327 women from 94 institutions who earned individual All-Academic honors.
