Lewis took care of business quickly, while McKendree had to go the distance, but both teams advance in the 2019 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Tournament.
Top-seeded Lewis swept No. 8 seed Quincy (25-15, 25-18, 25-11) to move on. The Flyers hit an impressive .508 for the match.
Omari Wheeler led the way with five kills. Zach Reider and Steve Bresser each had four. Adam Rogan had 18 assists.
Fourth-seeded McKendree outlasted fifth-seeded Ball State (25-19, 25-22, 25-27, 27-29, 16-14) in a match in which three of the five sets went to extra points.
Zach Schnitzer had a team-high 15 kills, while Will Frank and Lucas Galifos had 11 kills apiece. Zach Thompson had 16-dig performance in the win.
Lewis and McKendree will meet on Wednesday in semifinals. The winner will face the winner of Loyola-Chicago and Purdue-Fort Wayne in the MIVA Championship on Saturday, Apr. 20.
