ROMEOVILLE – Lewis University’s women’s golf team won the Screaming Eagle Invitational on Monday at the Cambridge Golf Course in Evansville, Ind. The Flyers finished the two-day event with a score of 629 and won the events by two shots over the Lindenwood Lions.
Lewis had a pair of top-five finishes with freshman Kendall Farm (Carol Stream, Ill./West Chicago) finishing in a tie for second with a score of 153 (78-75). She shot a 75 on Monday tying Lindenwood’s Noeila Rodriguez Chicote. Fifth-year senior Kasey Kane (Texarkana, Tex./Texarkana) finished fourth with a score of 154 (79-75).
Seniors Morgan McNulty (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) and Caiya Dewitt (Zeeland, Mich./West Ottawa) finished tied for 12th and 16th with scores of 161 (84-77) and 164 (80-83) respectively.
Competing as individuals were sophomore Molly St. Clair (Evansville, Ind./Evansville Central) who finished 30th with two-day total of 172 (86-86), junior Cherokee Hammonds (McKee, Ky./Jackson County) finished 37th with a score of 180 (88-92) and freshman Hannah Bowie (Brush Prairie, Wash./Hockinson) was 39th finishing with a score of 187 (97-90).
The Flyers return to the links on Friday (Sept. 24) as they travel to Allendale, Mich., for Grand Valley State’s Gilda’s Club Invitational.
